Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The Second Amendment guarantees all citizens the right to bear arms. However, over time courts have allowed the state and federal governments to impose certain restrictions on the right to firearm ownership. While many states have enacted strict laws controlling gun owners’ rights, in Georgia a person’s rights remain intact. This is not to say that Georgia has no regulations limiting the possession and use of firearms. Aside from prohibiting people from carrying guns in certain places, Georgia law bans a person from owning a gun if that person has been convicted of certain crimes.
If your right to own a firearm has been challenged in any way, call R.M. Sheffield Legal Services. Our mission is to ensure that your Constitutional rights are fully protected. We also offer a very low cost consultation, during which we will walk you through the process of becoming a safe and legally protected gun owner.
